I am pleased to announce the District of Columbia College of Clinical Pharmacy's fifth annual Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. We in DC-CCP have the unique privilege of being close enough to Washington, DC to be able to advocate for pharmacist provider status in our nation's capital. We will meet on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 10:30 am with John McGlew, Director of Government Affairs, to review materials and strategy at the ACCP office by the National Mall:
American College of Clinical Pharmacy
1455 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Suite 400
Washington, DC 20004-1017
From there, we will proceed to the Hill to meet with legislative offices and discuss the critical role pharmacists play in health care, as well as how provider status under the Social Security Act would help us to better integrate into the healthcare team.
Please contact Lisa Peters at lmtreu@gmail.com as soon as possible to let her know if you are interested. We should start requesting meetings soon in an attempt to meet face-to-face with legislators if possible.
