Brief History of District of Columbia College of Clinical Pharmacy, Incorporated

Prepared by Richard H. Parrish II, Founding President and Corporate Registered Agent

In February 2011, the ACCP Board of Regents approved the application of the District of Columbia College of Clinical Pharmacy (DC-CCP) as the organization’s newest chapter. The chapter serves the geographic region that includes the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The addition of DC-CCP brings the number of active ACCP chapters to 18, including three international chapters. More than 70 clinical pharmacists from the region signed up to be charter members of the new chapter. The chapter’s founding officers are Richard H. Parrish, B.S.Pharm., Ph.D., President, and Jason A. Corcoran, Pharm.D., Secretary-Treasurer. “DC-CCP fills a long-standing need for the College to have an active chapter in the Washington Capital Region,” Parrish said.

DC-CCP established a website and recruited members via a professional network and connection listing at http://www.linkedin.com/groups/District-Columbia-College-Clinical-Pharmacy-2881309?trk=myg_ugrp_ovr.

DC-CCP is registered as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Maryland.
